Enrolment in kindergartens established by the Prague 3
Enrolment in kindergartens established by the Prague 3 Municipal District for the 2025/26 school year will take place on 6 and 7 May 2025.
The Prague 3 Municipal District has been continuously increasing capacity in its schools and kindergartens to ensure places for all children from Prague 3 for the given school year. As in the previous year, increased attention will be given to the permanent residence of children applying to district schools. The goal is to prevent purposeful re-registration of children from other municipal districts, which creates artificial pressure on school capacity.
If a child has a permanent residence address within the Prague 3 Municipal District, their designated kindergarten is any kindergarten established by the Prague 3 Municipal District.
There are three phases of enrolment:
I. Phase - Issuing Applications
1 April 2025 - 5 May 2025
A preschool admission application can be obtained in the following ways during the application period, i.e. during the period mentioned above:
a) Electronic generation of the application
In the Kindergarten Enrolment application, you can generate an application for your chosen school. After logging in to the "Kindergarten Enrolment" application, you will find your application in PDF format, which you can download and print. This application must then be submitted to the selected school on the enrolment days, i.e., 6-7 May 2025.

Log in to the application using your insurance number.
Instead of using your health insurance number, you may choose any other ten-digit number. However, using the insurance number is recommended, as it is unique and always available on your insurance card. This number serves only as your access to the system and is not publicly displayed anywhere. The child as a party to the administrative procedure is listed under an automatically generated code.
- Then fill out the form, which is divided into several sections, to enter the child's and guardian's details.
- Once you have successfully completed the form, you will be taken to the “application details” page where you will find a summary of the information you have completed and the option to open or download the application in PDF format.
- When you press the [Change Application Details] button, you will be taken to a form where you can edit and re-save the details.
- Check the application number (top right corner of the page). If, for any reason, you have different numbers on the generated applications, submit only one version with the same application number to the kindergartens.
- You can protect repeated access to your child's data by adding your own password.
- The completed application will then be sent to your email in PDF format (the resulting PDF will be in Czech as it is a document of the administrative proceedings of the Czech Republic).
b) In-Person Pickup at Kindergarten
On the websites of individual kindergartens, you will find information on the possibility of picking up the application in person during the above-mentioned period.
Important information (summary):
- After generating the application, you will receive a unique numerical identifier (registration number), ensuring the anonymity of your child (in accordance with personal data processing laws and GDPR); this number will be used to publish the results of the administrative proceedings.
- Write down this identifier (registration number) for any necessary corrections or to track the application during the administrative proceedings.
- Corrections and changes to the application can only be made before submitting it to the kindergarten. If you print the application yourself at home (preferably double-sided), you do not need to contact the kindergarten at this phase.
- The personal data of the child and the legal guardian provided in the application are required for the administrative process and the issuance of the admission/non-admission decision.
- Fill out the application carefully – do not forget to have the required information confirmed by a paediatrician – vaccination confirmation.
II. phase - Submission of Completed Applications to Kindergartens (ENROLMENT)
6 -7 May 2025
Submit a completed application with the numerical identifier (registration number) to your chosen kindergarten. Applications are accepted during the time period specified by the principal of the chosen kindergarten. You can apply to multiple kindergartens.
When submitting the application and during the administrative procedure, the responsible kindergarten staff may also request the child's birth certificate, the legal guardian’s ID card, proof of the child's permanent residence (if different from the permanent residence of the legal guardians).
Since the application must be submitted in paper form, it is recommended to personally visit each kindergarten you have selected.
An incomplete application that is not completed within the deadline set by the kindergarten principal will result in the child's exclusion from the admission process.
The application can be submitted in the following ways:
- in person: see information for the specific kindergarten;
- via data box (each kindergarten has its own data box);
- by email with a recognized electronic signature (sending a regular email is not sufficient);
- by mail (sent by registered mail, with the postmark date being decisive).
If the application is submitted using other technical means (e.g., email without an electronic signature, fax, etc.), the legal guardian must confirm it within 5 days using one of the methods above.
If the application is incomplete, the legal guardian will be asked to provide the missing information within the deadline set by the kindergarten principal. If the guardian fails to correct the deficiencies, the administrative proceedings will be terminated by resolution.
III. phase - Application Evaluation
from 29 May 2025
From this date, you can expect information on your child's admission/non-admission to kindergarten. Check the kindergarten's bulletin board or website. Kindergartens will publish a list of registration numbers of admitted children.
For further details regarding the admission process, monitor your email, as it will be used for communication.
A written decision will only be sent if the child is not admitted.
What to Do in Case of Problems?
If you cannot log into the system, whether for the initial application generation or later, contact the system administrator at the provided email address. In the text description of your problem, please provide the necessary information (such as the child's name, the application identifier, the child's insurance number if applicable, the operating system used and the internet browser used).
